The English Club Zollikon
At English Club Zollikon kids are welcomed into a safe and joyful environment.
While working parents get the opportunity to stay busy knowing that their little one is looked after during those crucial after school hours.
Kids are offered a playful after school experience that will empower them to learn English and build confidence in their ability to speak, read, and write.
The Program
The English Club is a 3 hour session every Thursday at 15:00 - 18:00, for children between 4-8 years old.
It is a safe space for children to explore the English language though creative and fun activities.
By exploring topics in Science, Art, Music, Movement and Games, children build the confidence to speak and learn new concepts in English while having fun.
Throughout these sessions our objective is to support children in growing their speaking, reading and writing skills in English. Additionally, children learn how to use language to

- overcome difficult situations.

Additional Classes Offered
Phonics I
This is a 1 hour private or group session for children between 4-5 years old, that are new to phonics.
Based on the methods Letterland and Science of Reading in these sessions children learn
- a-z letter sounds formation
- to identify beginning sounds in words
- blending and segmenting vowels and consonants
- to decode and read a limited number of high-frequency words

Phonics II
This is a 1 hour private or group session for children between 5-8 years old, that have knowledge of English letter sounds, letter shapes, high frequency words and basic blending.
Based on the methods Letterland and Science of Reading in these sessions children learn
- To blend with adjacent consonants
- To Blend and segment beyond CCVC and CVCC
- to experiment with long vowels pronounciation and long vowel spelling \
- to read beyond 80 high-frequency words
- to read decodable text with fluency and comprehension.
